...Oh no!
I`ve read your description after nposting.
So this was the sherry that ìve tasted?
alright there`s a little bit of smoke in the aftertaste, but not so much in the nose. yeah with spicy I agree too, but where`re the raisins?
Must say I tasted this malt while eating lunch with some cheeses from norge after a very long day at the H-kollen..
82 points from me for its very own characteristic, with some more years think this malt goes better and better.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05616593308855417418noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3921231613967311164.post-19920099339184173742015-03-17T22:36:06.850+01:002015-03-17T22:36:06.850+01:00tussen tak for your description,
I`m whisky fan &a...tussen tak for your description,
I`m whisky fan & conniseur since 20y, so it was very interesting to taste the gjoleid in the restaurant fjord in oslo on sunday the 15.03., after visiting Holmenkollen skifestival. Dessverre I´can`t speaking norsk so far... so thanx, because at first nosing I believed the malt has 73,5%. at tasting (with water) I thought that could not be soo strong. and then the backcover with 47%.....so now I know what it means.
thx
ps.: I`ve tasted FATNR 9305/ Flaskenr/1221: 0820
Nose: First alcoholic domination, then takes a grainy note over to some vanilla, mandler and a little bit of green apple. With water the citrus note comes out.
Taste: Strong, Norwegian and very very young. For 3,5y the malty notes came out like 12y, but on the other side for taste of wood you must search for. - I mean it not negative, I´ve drank some 3y old whiskys that were overwooded after this short time of maturation(Coillmor 3y, 46% Port Wood as example). All in all it could be a little bit more complex, after waiting some more years.
Overall I would like to taste Gjoleid from a sherry cask, cause of my personal tastebuds.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05616593308855417418noreply@blogger.com
